AF – Pittsburgh Hosted Career Networking Event

By: Kathryn Shelton

AF Pittsburgh welcomed seasoned local business man Tim Rowlands and HR professional John Oliverio for a discussion on navigating the job market in Pittsburgh. Fifteen young professionals came out to seek career advice on the interview process, how to move up in their organizations and how often to change jobs. Rowlands encouraged attendees to never view a job as too demeaning, “I graduated from Cornell in 1972 and my first job was stocking soap for PG, but it got me through the gates and into the castle where I could find more opportunities.”
John Oliverio concluded the evening by encouraging members to view the interview process like dating. If they don’t like you, you won’t get the job no matter how well-qualified you are.
The chapter also welcomed three new AF Pittsburgh members
