AF Sponsors the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

By: AF Editors

The third Wednesday of every month, AF-Detroit hosts a monthly event to bring young professionals together to discuss the issues facing their community, state, and the nation. This May, the chapter made an exception to move their regularly scheduled programs. Along with the Mackinac Center, Michigan’s state based think tank, and Junior Achievement, AF sponsored the Detroit Children’s Business Fair. The Children’s Business Fair grants kids the opportunity to create a product, business model, and marketing strategy, and then sell that product to the public in a safe environment. This year was the second time the next generation of entrepreneurs came out on the streets of Old Detroit. Originally developed by the Acton Academy Schools, this model is now active in 25 different cities across the country. Check out these kids – and the big winners – as they put free market principles and hard work into action!
