Albuquerque Chapter Event: 2017 Pre-File Party

Join AF and Liberty on the Rocks for our 2017 Pre-File Party. The legislative session is starting in New Mexico and we are in for an interesting 60 days. The legislators have been working to pre-file legislation that they would like to see passed into law during the session. As they meet to deliberate the finer points and determine what shall pass, fail and be killed silently, let’s lend them a hand. Bring your nominations for best and worst legislation that has been pre-filed or rumored and let’s have some fun crowning the best and worst pieces of legislation. As always we will have amazing food and drinks from Kaktus Brewery. Don’t worry if you don’t have any nominations to bring, we need plenty of judges. Bring a friend.

Session Calendar:
December 15, 2016 – January 13 Legislation may be prefiled
January 17 Opening day (noon)
February 16 Deadline for introduction
March 18 Session ends (noon)
April 7 Legislation not acted upon by governor is pocket vetoed
June 16 Effective date of legislation not a general appropriation bill or a bill carrying an emergency clause or other specified date
