It’s 2013 and we live in a world of ObamaCare, NSA surveillance of American citizens, soda bans, transfat bans, plastic grocery bag bans, and on and on and on. It seems like each day the news brings a new tale of how government is growing and limiting the freedom of Americans. Many libertarians and conservatives hold the view that freedom and liberty are on the decline, and it will be hard, if not impossible, to regain that lost ground.

But, could America’s best days really be head of us?

In their new book America 3.0, authors Michael Lotus and James Bennett argue that we are in a painful transition period. Our government is crushingly expensive, failing at its basic functions, and unable to keep its promises. It does not work and it cannot continue as it is. But the inevitable end of big government does not mean the end of America. It only means the end of one phase of American life. America is poised to enter a new era of freedom and prosperity.

Join AF-Chicago as for an evening of cocktails and classic American food from Portillos as we host America 3.0 author Michael Lotus for a special event to answer the question: Are America’s Best Days Yet to Come?
