How to Write an Effective Job Post
Looking for the perfect fit for that open position in your office? Finding the right candidate for your organization can be a challenge.
Perhaps you’ve posted ads in the right outlets (including the AFF Job Board, of course!), but you’re just not getting that perfect applicant. What’s the problem?
According to Michael G. Smith of Smith Recruiting, the ad itself may be the problem. Michael advises recruiters to follow a few simple steps:
- Promote the job you’re trying to fill. Don’t just list the duties; you’re likely to scare off the best candidates.
- Be realistic about what you’ll pay. Good candidates are likely to skip ads without salary ranges — they’ll assume the worst. And if you offer bonuses, say so! Excellent candidates like the prospect of being rewarded for work above and beyond the call of duty.
- Utilize keywords to your advantage. In the era of Google, the words you choose to promote your position are more important than ever.
