‘Free or Equal’ film screening and Q&A with producer Bob Chitester
Join AFF-Chicago for a special event on September 14th:
The Chicago premiere of “Free or Equal with Johan Norberg” and Q&A with producer Bob Chitester.
Thirty years later, in this one-hour documentary, the young Swedish writer, analyst and Cato Foundation Fellow Johan Norberg travels in Friedman’s footsteps to see what has actually happened in the places Friedman’s ideas helped transform. In location after location Norberg examines the contemporary relevance or Friedman’s ideas in the 2011 world of globalization and financial crisis. Central to his examination are the perennial questions concerning power and prosperity, and the trade-offs between individual liberty and income equality.
Following the film, producer Bob Chitester will answer questions from the audience. Chitester is a lifelong advocate for free markets and an innovator in spreading the word, having been the person to convince Milton and Rose Friedman to develop “Free to Choose.”
This event is part of the Milton Friedman’s Century project, an initiative of Free to Choose Media.
