6:30 pm
Weygandt Wines, 3519 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington
Metro: Cleveland Park
Young professionals rarely sweat when ordering a beer or simple cocktail, but wine can be terrifying. This is understandable — there are hundreds of different grape varieties and wine lists can look like phone books.
Yet at some point, you’ll be expected to know some basics. How do you navigate a wine list? Are Old World wines really that much different from New World wines?
You can explore the basics of wine with AFF Board Member David White. In addition to his work at Keybridge Communications, David is the founder and editor of Terroirist.com, a critically acclaimed wine blog. A member of the Society of Wine Educators, David has his Level 3 certificate from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust. And he writes a twice monthly wine column for Wines.com which appears in nearly 100 newspapers across the country.
David will be our personal wine educator for an evening, walking us through a blind tasting of eight wines from four different grapes. The cost is only $15 and you must be a paying member of AFF in good standing before you apply below.
This event is co-sponsored by Weygandt Wines.
