That’s David Brooks on Bobby Jindal’s speech last night. Here’s a clip:
I can’t say I disagree overall. Last night was some kind of clarifying moment as to the profound lack of ideas that the Republicans have at this moment in history. Jindal is a smart guy, a savvy technocrat with lots of interesting programs running in his state. It’s just that when he’s forced to appear on the national stage and use the boilerplate of his party to address the issues of the day, he comes off as amazingly tone-deaf and out of touch. And I’m not talking about the delivery.
