AFF's Doublethink

I’m about as big of an apologist for the police as you’re going to find. I thought the “don’t taze me bro” kid had it coming and I have no problem with the police breaking out tazers/batons in situations where people are causing trouble. I’m the last person to judge a cop for using force in the line of his (inherently dangerous, often life threatening) duty But this dude needs to be suspended without pay or simply fired from the force for pulling a gun out during a snowball fight. I’m not especially enamored with the theory that police should always be forced to de-escalate a situation — sometimes you need to meet force with force — but this detective almost caused a riot over a snowball hitting his Hummer. Jesus Christ.
