July 30: Are “green” policies as important as candidates make them out to be? And how far should government go in regulating individuals and businesses to bring about environmental change? Is “doing it for Mother Earth” the new “Do it for the children”? To help answer these questions we’ll be joined by panelists Calla Ostrander, who helped start Aspen’s municipal carbon-credit system, the first of its kind in the country, and Paul Chesser, of the John Locke Foundation’s “Climate Strategies Watch.” Brad Jones (Face The State) will act as Moderator.

AFF Denver: How the West will Be Lost

It’s no mistake that Democrats will be hosting their national convention in Denver. Liberal funders have invested heavily in Colorado as part of a multi-cycle strategy to turn traditionally red states in the mountain west blue. But have Republicans and the Religious Right put more libertarian-leaning mountain states up for grabs? Looking at the primaries, does Huckabee’s success indicate the growing or waning influence of evangelicals in the Republican Party?
