Join us for our third AFFABQ Leadership Series. We are pleased to have the CEO of ‘The Rock of Talk” radio station Mr. Eddy Aragon to speak with us about the City of Albuquerque. Mr. Aragon is the Owner, GM and Talk Show Host on 95.9 FM and 1600 AM KIVA, an Arbitron / Nielson rated Talk Radio station located in Albuquerque, NM. He started the radio station in 2011 with a lineup and programming aimed at a younger, professional, independent and vibrant talk audience. The programming includes, “Tipping Point”, “Living Liberty,” “Bloomberg Surveillance,” “The Dan Patrick Show,” “Rich Eisen Show,” “The Dave Ramsey Show,” “The Sean Hannity Show,” “The Rock of Talk with Eddy Aragon” and “Free Talk Live” among others. As an 11th Generation New Mexican, Eddy had traced his roots all the way back to 1693 when DeVargas recruited his ancestors from present day Mexico City to resettle New Mexico along with the Medina and Quintana families who joined the other original 27 families that settled New Mexico from Northern Mexico. Moreover, Eddy has traced his lineage to Spanish-born Augustin Geronimo de Aragon, a Master Organ Maker who worked on Mexico’s National Cathedral Organ.
Mr. Aragon is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with degrees in Political Science and Economics and interned in Washington D.C. for Jeff Bingaman, worked on several campaigns for Tom Udall and Speaker of the House, Raymond Sanchez and also a National Presidential Election in 2004. In the private sector, Eddy worked for 13 years in the Commercial Real Estate industry in Phoenix and Las Vegas for some of the most reputable firms in the world including CBRE, Cushman, and Wakefield. Eddy is married and has one son who is a 12th generation, New Mexican.
