“Clearing the Hurdles: Running as a Third-Party Candidate in Georgia” with former Libertarian Candidate Amanda Swafford

March 24, 2015 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Hudson Grille Midtown

942 Peachtree St Atlanta, Atlanta, GA 30309

Since elections in America are dominated by a two-party system, third-party candidates nationwide already have some of the toughest hurdles to clear in terms of name recognition and electoral resources. In many states, the legal barriers simply to appear on electoral ballots can be enough to shut out third-party challengers, and by many measures, Georgia’s ballot access laws are the most stringent of any state in the nation. How did it get this way, and what are the prospects for ballot access reform? Join us as we host Amanda Swafford, former Libertarian Party candidate for U.S. Senate, to discuss this important issue.

Amanda Swafford – Libertarian: Amanda was the 2014 Libertarian Party nominee for U.S. Senate. She was featured in many national broadcasts and print interviews throughout her campaign including Fox Business Network, Time Magazine, Breitbart, and the Washington Post.

Our event this month will be back at our usual location at the Hudson Grille Midtown. Free valet parking and free drink tickets for current members!
