Giving Felons a Second Chance

Join AF-Dallas for an evening of conversation with Todd Fields, President and CEO of 2S Industries!

2S Industries is a six-year-old social enterprise which hires former felons for construction and landscaping jobs. Not only does the organization employ these marginalized men, but it also provides them with mentorship and guidance to help them re-adjust to life outside of prison. In the past six years, 2S Industries has taken free market business principals and $3,000 in initial seed capital to become a holistic and sustainable social enterprise specifically designed to reach and employ Dallas’ most marginalized men. They’ve shown that men who have a steady income and a sense of community are less likely to engage in behaviors that would lead to re-incarceration and are willing and able to become productive members of their communities. This group has taken a serious social problem, and has found an innovative private solution.

As always, we will have an open bar and ample appetizers. The formal portion of the evening will begin at 7:00 pm, but be sure to come by a little early to grab a drink and network a little!

There is free parking in the lot behind the restaurant and in the lot 1/2 a block east of the restaurant. You won’t want to miss this chance to hear how one man’s vision has transformed the lives of former felons, gang members and drug dealers, who have now become homeowners, loving fathers, tax payers, and servant leaders of the communities they once exploited.
