AF Atlanta Presents: Michael Zeman

The millennial generation has a lot of influences that are constantly bombarding them with information, some of it good, some of it bad. However, the themes of liberty have carved a niche in our nation’s socio-cultural mentality. It might not seem obvious at first, but the subtext is clear. Macklemore is teaching young adults about fiscal responsibility. The Hunger Games is all about authoritarian overreach. And Reddit, one of the darker places of the internet, actually encourages open discussion about all manner of ideas in an engaging and thought-provoking environment. The ideas of freedom and liberty are being disseminated in all manners of unique ways, and the people are listening.

Michael Zeman is a graduate of Kennesaw State University who recently completed a spring internship with the Foreign & Defense Policy department at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. He has been a constant proponent of individual liberty and limited government over the years after having discovered Atlas Shrugged in high school. For the 2013-14 school year, he was a Campus Coordinator with Students For Liberty and helped plan three regional conferences while doing outreach to multiple colleges in Georgia. At this point, he wants the world to know that Students For Liberty is hosting a conference at Emory University on October 18th, and he encourages everyone to attend this free event to see the student movement firsthand.
