The State of Free Speech

November 8, 2017 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Detroit Beer Company

1529 Broadway Street, Detroit, Michigan 48226

Free speech is a really hot topic, especially on college campuses. Speech everywhere is being both protested and protected, sometimes violently. With so much hype around the subject, it’s hard to get a sense of what’s really going on.

Grant Strobl, the National Chairman of Young Americans for Freedom, will discuss the state of free speech today and how all can encourage true freedom across the country. Both Red Alert Politics and Newsmax have named Grant as one of the most influential young conservatives in the country, citing his work to advance conservative ideas and secure key free speech victories at his college and high school. As the founding chairman of his Young Americans for Freedom chapter at the University of Michigan, he quickly made the chapter the most active in the nation.

Grant is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan– Ann Arbor. He has previously interned for the Committee on House Administration, Governor Rick Snyder’s re-election campaign in Michigan, the Meese Legal Center at the Heritage Foundation, and for Hannity on Fox News Channel. He also sits on the Michigan 14th District Republican Congressional Committee.
