It's a gift, really

I have no idea what effect Billy Joel’s endorsement will have on the Obama campaign, but, speaking personally, I can only agree with Joe Queenan’s assessment that BIlly Joel has written more memorable songs that I don’t want to be able to remember than maybe any other pop singer:

Captain Jack, Piano Man, Goodnight Saigon, The Longest Time, Just The Way You Are, Uptown Girl, We Didn’t Start the Fire, that “in the middle of the night” one, Only the Good Die Young, etc., and that’s just off the top of my head. And I don’t even own any of his albums.

I’m going to have to drill through my head like that guy in the movie Pi.
