It's not caviar

By: AF Editors

Over at the Atlantic, Ta-Nehisi Coates continues to labor to convince himself that the new album from the overrated TV On The Radio is better than it is. How many shots at this do you need? The problem with this kind of indie neo-soul crap is that they’re so conscious of the tradition they’re working in, that they keep putting stuff in and taking stuff out, more or less at random, until it’s like musical Jenga (I think it’s what Harold Bloom meant by the “anxiety of influence,” but who really cares?).

A few listens of this stuff, and I just want to go to the source. Damn sure nobody ever called “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher” an acquired taste.
