Research, vet, and implement workflows / technologies to support strategies set by senior management

Direct and manage the annual Technology budget; report on and ensure compliance with expenses
Assess and assemble appropriate resource-staffing, i.e. in-house technical personnel, consultants, and/or external vendors
Build relationships with outside agencies and hold them to the highest standard of service quality; carefully review, negotiate, and approve contracts with service partners helping to manage: SaaS, hosting, data API harmonization, website development, database CRM implementation, and so on
Remain current in terms of emerging technologies, trends, and open-source tools
Think critically to inform "build vs. assemble vs. buy" approach
Work closely with the Marketing Director and executive leadership to help make sound digital decisions across brands
BS or Master’s degree / certifications (Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Web Development)
5-8+ years of related technical expertise in scaling websites, digital platforms, applications; 3+ years in a leadership role
Ability to communicate the technical possibilities and limitations of systems to non-technical colleagues in meaningful ways
Excellent management, organizational, and leadership skills (across internal, virtual, and/or third-party teams)
Excellent conceptual, analytical, judgment and communication abilities
Relational database knowledge a must (Blackbaud / Raiser’s Edge experience a plus)
Previous work at a digital agency a plus
Capacity to adapt to changing technologies when faced with ever-evolving data integration challenges
Sound understanding and experience with: HTML 5, CSS, JS, popular CSS/JS frameworks such as Bootstrap and jQuery, PHP coding for backend development with Drupal or WordPress, and other open-source technologies (AWS, ESP, Linux)
