Joanna started her first business in April 2009. Lunar Massage is a network of neighborhood massage studios with affordable, accessible massage for busy professionals and area residents in DC. It now has three locations and fifteen employees. In addition to being CEO of Lunar Massage she does operations consulting for other business owners and is working on launching a local floral design service called Tin Can Flowers. She switched to being an entrepreneur after four years of fundraising for school choice and other libertarian causes. She was AFF’s Membership Director from 2005-2007 before joining the Board. Prior to coming to Washington D.C., Joanna managed a congressional campaign in District 26 in Texas (Dallas), worked in the importing business for the craft industry, and also at a financial planning firm. She comes from an Army family and her degree is in English Literature. She and her partner Rob Montz are car-less urbanophiles who love the share economy and taking long walks with their Corgi, Bronson.

Marty Cornish is a Washington, DC-based entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of EasyPaint,a startup that allows people to receive estimates for residential and commercial paint projects online, without the need to schedule an on-site estimate. In 2009, Cornish founded Round Trip Sports, a baseball-focused sports training company based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He maintains a majority interest in the company, which has been profitable every year since founding. Today, Round Trip Sports has three former Major League Baseball players on staff. Cornish graduated with honors from Rollins College in 2009, where he won numerous awards as a student-athlete. In the past five years, Cornish has been driven to excel in business and is passionate about creative innovation.

Clay Broga is co-founder of Freethink – a production company and creative agency that combines big ideas with great stories to challenge the way people view the world. Clay produced the film Honor Flight – a story about a community racing against the clock to fly World War II veterans to see their memorial. The film’s trailer has been viewed 4.5 million times online, and the film broke the Guinness World Record for the largest film screening ever with over 28,000 people in attendance.

Pericles Niarchos (Moderator)
Pericles Niarchos moved to the DC area for the Charles Koch Institute’s Koch Associate Program working at the Institute for Human Studies. It was through the Koch Associate Program’s staff and management philosophy that Pericles was first exposed to business entrepreneurship. A newcomer to the DC start-up scene, he has participated in local Start-Up Weekends and meet-ups. He is working on multiple projects including a boat hoteling business that shows promise for 2014. When not working on a business project, Pericles enjoys rock climbing, sailing, and hiking. He is currently set to summit the Himalayan mountains’ Rupal Peak in late July.
