12052591_1030035050351076_6938253144310561622_oJennifer just recently became the Chair for the AF Atlanta Chapter. She is a transplant to Atlanta and has been there for almost six years. When she is not at an AF meeting, she is attending Anarchy in Atlanta meetings, writing blogs for Liberty.me, raising her twin boys, or running her online book club.

She was introduced to her current philosophy by her libertarian father. While she grew up in the conservative city of Birmingham Alabama, her family taught her to research topics and form her own decision on the issue. Since then, she continues to educate herself by researching and talking to others with different viewpoints and perspectives.

She was first introduced to AF by a friend that was a member. She was still pretty new to the Atlanta area, but she was looking to build her network by volunteering for a cause she cared about. She started going to Liberty on the Rocks meetings and made a few friends from AF. She liked that AF was a non-partisan group of young professionals and the variety of topics and viewpoints at the meetings. This is what she had to say about her chapter:

“We do not censor ideas, whether it’s a speaker or an attendee. We always have time for questions, and we do not shut down unpopular opinions or blacklist people. It is an open-minded group. We are always willing to listen to other people and give those viewpoints a platform.”

She believes that,”the Atlanta area is a dynamic place. It’s seeing a lot of change right now. Georgia is ripe for the liberty movement if we can successfully leverage the opinion of the people. It is going to take a lot of careful planning, not only for AF but the citizens as well. We’re on the cusp of great things but it’s going to take a lot to make it happen.”

We are very fortunate to have such dedicated members like Jennifer. With help from the AF community, more leaders like Jennifer will be able to find a network of like-minded young professionals in their cities.
