My website is in process, where I will comment, item by item, on the smear email going around to frighten people about reform. Meanwhile, I’m commenting on the August 16th, show…..with all due respect to your commentators, they need to read HR 3200.

There is a clear “opt out” provision in there. If an employer chooses a plan you don’t like, even the public plan, you have 30 days to opt out and choose your own plan.

No one is forced to buy into the public plan.

Personally, if I did not finally qualify for Medicare, I would prefer to pay for health care, and not for huge CEO salaries, lobbying costs, campaign contributions and profits of the private insurance companies. If we truly believe in freedom of choice, we ought to give people this choice. If people want to keep their private plan, more power to them.
