The Other Dementia: Hillary in Hillaryland

By: James Poulos

Thru Andrew, I see her condition has worsened:

I am in this race for all the women in their nineties who’ve told me they were born before women could vote, and they want to live to see a woman in the White House. For all the women who are energized for the first time, and voting for the first time. For the little girls – and little boys – whose parents lift them onto their shoulders at our rallies, and whisper in their ears, “See, you can be anything you want to be.” As the first woman ever to be in this position, I believe I have a responsibility to them.

What position? The position that Elizabeth Dole wasn’t first in either? The position of a loser with a lot of votes? With a President husband? With an okay Senate record but an inability to lead? With a personality that can’t be beat — even by herself? Hillary is the first woman ever to be in Hillary Clinton’s position, an awkward prisonlike thing that is entirely the product of who Hillary is as a person. The good news for everyone — conservatives, feminists, Democrats, little girls, everyone but possibly the press — is that no woman will ever be in this position again.
