About Mayor Chow:

Mayor Joe Chow moved from Taiwan to the United States in 1979 and completed his Master of Administrative Studies degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1980. After working for several businesses in the restaurant industry, he opened his own restaurant, May Dragon, in 1986. Mayor Chow is an insurance agent and also holds a real estate license.

Mayor Chow was first elected to the Addison City Council in May of 2002 and served as Mayor Pro Tempore in 2004. He was elected Mayor in 2005 and served three consecutive terms before taking a break due to term limits. He decided to run again for Mayor in 2017 and was re-elected. In May 2019, he won his fifth Mayoral election.

In his free time, Mayor Chow enjoys playing various sports and spending time with his seven children, 4 grandchildren and wife, Chi Chi.
