Joseph “Joey” Magana brings a rare blend of grassroots, legislative, and national policy experience to the school choice movement.

Raised in Texas and Arkansas, Joey earned his degree in history from Oklahoma Baptist University before spending two years in China teaching conversational English at Sun Yat-Sen University. After returning to the U.S., he served in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives, worked in the congressional offices of Sen. James Lankford and Rep. Steve Russell, and later held leadership roles at Americans for Prosperity. Today, he helps lead EdChoice’s national policy and advocacy efforts at the forefront of the universal choice movement.
