AF-Jackson’s School Supplies Drive (Day of Action)

Join AF-Jackson’s board members as we collect school supplies for our metro area students & teachers.

Former congressman Chip Pickering will be discussing his organization Great City and their vision for our capital city. Great City is a non-profit organization that is working to make Jackson a United Way Capital area in partnership with 16 WAPT News envision every metro area student prepared and ready to succeed this school year.

During the 2022 School Tools Drive, United Way Capital was able to provide over 3,694 school supply kits (book bags filled with school supplies) and 198,000 school supply items to area schools and non-profit organizations within Hinds, Madison, and Rankin valued at $37,423.21. Over 25 non-profit organizations and area schools (over 3800 students) were impacted by the United Way of the Capital Area and 16 WAPT School Tools Drive.

Join AF-Jackson’s board members as we collect donations that will help provide many of our students and teachers with the essential school supplies and safety provisions needed for their academic success this school year.

All donations will go to United Way of the Capital Area for distribution to schools and non-profits, and monetary donations will go towards the purchase of school supplies for metro area students.
