The Impact of Local Government

February 27, 2019 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

County Commission Conference Room

100 East Center St., Provo, Utah 84606

When people talk about government, oftentimes, the first thing that comes to mind is government at the federal level. And, with the amount of news coverage that national politics receives, it can be easy to forget that not all government originates inside the DC Beltway.

But what about local government? Why is local government important, and how does it affect people?

Join AFF-Provo for our first event of the year, featuring guest speaker Amelia Powers. Amelia, the recently elected county clerk/auditor, will share what she’s learned during her first month in office on how local government can often have a greater impact on our lives than national politics. Stick around after her remarks for food and a chance to meet and network with other young professionals from the area. Be sure to RSVP. We hope to see you there!

Hosted in the County Commission conference room.
