Axe the Tax Code
June 20, 2019 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
1924 East Kenilworth Pl., Milwaukee,
Did you know that Wisconsin’s top individual income tax rate (at 7.65%) is among the highest nationally and regionally? Wisconsin’s corporate tax rates are also high compared to other states. But they’re significantly lessened by the Manufacturing and Agriculture Credit (MAC), which protects some firms from such burdensome rates yet excludes many others. Research shows that high individual and corporate taxes tend to harm economic growth.
Does any of this frustrate you? Do you want to learn more about Wisconsin’s tax system and possible ideas for reform? Or are you interested in throwing axes and networking? This event is your chance to hang out with liberty-minded young professionals, enjoy a drink (or two), and literally, take an “axe” to your frustrations with Wisconsin’s anti-growth tax system!
Mike Nichols, President of the Badger Institute, will speak on the Institute’s recent report: Wisconsin Tax Options: A Guide to Fair, Simple, Pro-Growth Reform. Then, there will be an axe throwing demonstration and lanes reserved for those who are interested in throwing.
Buy your ticket today, and invite your friends and colleagues to the event! Your discounted $15 ticket includes 1.5 hours of axe throwing in dedicated lanes and one drink ticket. The event is FREE for non-throwers.
