After Governor Mike DeWine introduced Ohio’s 2020-21 biennial budget in March, it’s been growing bigger every day. As programs and legislation are constantly being added and cut out, it is no surprise some have been left wondering what will actually be in the final budget, which must be passed before July 1. Not to worry, we’re here to make it a bit more ‘digestible’!
Join AFF Columbus as we discuss Ohio’s budget with Ohio Representative Derek Merrin (district 47), House Health Committee Chairman, and The Buckeye Institute’s chief economist, Dr. Andrew Kidd, on Wednesday, June 19 from 5:30pm – 7: 30pm at Serendipity Labs. This event will kick off with networking and free drinks and appetizers at 5:30, followed by lite budget banter featuring Rep. Merrin and Dr. Kidd starting around 6:30. Rep. Merrin will touch on what was cut, what pro-free market amendments were added, and how the budget has changed from when it was introduced, while Dr. Kidd will lay out the budget’s big spenders.
Grab a friend and bring your appetite as we break down the Ohio budget!
