Southeast Michigan Chapter Event: Tour of Holocaust Memorial Center

Join America’s Future in December to tour the Holocaust Memorial Center’s Zekelman Family Campus in Farmington HIlls. We will be joining one of the museum’s docent-led public tours through the main museum exhibits, as well as the museum’s rotating exhibit, Holocaust by Bullets, which is in its final weeks at the museum. AF will cover the cost of admission.

Holocaust by Bullets tracks the progression of Hitler’s Final Solution as the Einsatzgruppen carried out an escalation in genocide throughout eastern Europe. Using the assiduous records kept by the Germans, an organization by the name of Yahad in Unum has traveled to the locations where mass executions occurred to seek out residents who were alive during the events in order to interview them about their recollections. Because many of these residents are advancing in years, Yahad in Unum is working against the clock to ensure that these histories are not lost forever.
Yahad in Unum has a secondary goal in performing this research and presenting their Holocaust by Bullets exhibit. They seek to inspire conversation about the genocides which continue to occur around the world today, and to encourage people to speak out against groups which promote hate and violence. We will meet at 12:45 on Wednesday, December 7th, and 12:45 on Sunday, December 11th for tours beginning at 1 PM. Tours last two hours, and often include a visit with a Holocaust survivor. Please RSVP by Sunday, December 4th for the tour on December 7th, and by Thursday, December 8th for the tour on the 11th so that we can ensure your spot.
