The key goals of the Federal Reserve System are “to promote the health of the U.S. economy and the stability of the U.S. financial system.” In response to the coronavirus outbreak and lockdown, the Fed greatly expanded the money supply and instituted a variety of emergency lending programs. Many economists question these actions and how they will affect the economy. AIER Senior Resident Fellow Thomas Hogan will be joining us on July 22nd to discuss what the Fed’s role should be during the recovery from Covid-19. Hogan was formerly the Chief Economist for the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, & Urban Affairs.

Thomas will speak for 20-30 minutes, then we’ll open up the floor for discussion. This event will be co-hosted with the Dallas Bastiat Society.
