Volunteering to Help Hurricane Florence Victims

September 23, 2018 10:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Meetup Location: Port City Community Church New Bern

2840 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, NC 28562

As you know, North Carolina has recently been seriously impacted by Hurricane Florence. Most of our AF-Raleigh community has a relative or friend who was affected by the storm in some way and countless are in real crisis.

In light of this, we’re gathering a team of volunteers this Sunday, September 23, to help those left in need from the storm.

We will be working through Samaritan’s Purse–one of the hurricane relief organizations operating in eastern North Carolina. After a brief training, we will be working in New Bern from 12:30-5:00 pm. We will be arranging car pools for anyone who would like to attend. Individuals who may want to drive separately are also more than welcome. The location is 2 hours away from downtown Raleigh, so we will plan to leave at 10:00 am and return around 7:30 pm. Please be sure to RSVP so that we can report how many volunteers we will be bringing.

We’re a group that values personal responsibility and community, and now is a critical time to put those values to action. We hope you will join us this weekend, and please feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions you may have.
