What the hell were you thinking? | When Running for Office
January 22, 2020 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Angels Trumpet Ale House Arcadia
2339 North 44th St., Phoenix, AZ 85008
Every election cycle, multiple candidates on both sides of the aisle endeavor to become the next voice for the American people. Private fundraisers, lectures, guest speaking opportunities, and door knocking are some of the many activities included in a typical campaign cycle. But what else does it take to run for public office?
Tax payers often see the ads and yard signs, but what they don’t see is the tireless effort candidates put into communicating their platforms and stances on big issues. This fireside chat will analyze a typical campaign cycle and reveal the true passion of candidates running for office who wanted nothing more than to be a voice of the people — a noble call to action that is viewed very challenging today.
With mixed reviews online and media outlets conveying two different stories, what happens behind the scenes? What should young people consider before running for office? And how does one become a true public servant in the face of state and local politics? We will answer these questions and more on January 22nd at our regular location followed by our well known Liberty Happy Hours!
