Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge (FFVF) is a 501(c)3 educational institution housed on a 75 acre campus in the heart of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia. The Foundation inspires civic responsibility through educational programming for students, teachers, and others from around the country. We educate about American rights and responsibilities, honor acts of civic virtue, and challenge all to engage with the principles of liberty embodied by the American Founding and contained in the Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights.

Job Summary

The development coordinator will assist with efforts of both the development and communications departments, while reporting directly to the Senior Director of Development. Responsibilities include development gift entry and database management, supporting annual appeal and ongoing fundraising campaigns, developing and executing social media strategy, preparing and distributing communications through Constant Contact, and event coordination as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient, technology-focused support for development department.
    • Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
    • Continually update and correct database records in Salesforce.
    • Maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials, and other event planning duties as assigned.
    • Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.
    • Assist with annual appeal and other fundraising campaign mailing.
    • Coordinate with accounting department for monthly reconciliation of development revenue.
  • Work directly with the President and CEO to prepare for major donor calls and monthly email communications.
  • Support communications department, particularly as it relates to development and fundraising.
    • Prepare organization’s newsletter three times a year, working with all departments and graphic designer.
    • Schedule and edit quarterly alumni newsletter.
    • Create and schedule special event emails through Constant Contact.
    • Maintain Salesforce database integrity through work with all departments.
  • Coordinate social media outreach and strategy to promote organization programs and mission.
  • Event coordination for annual gala evening and other events as assigned.

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion

Requirements and Skills

  • 0-2 years of experience; internships in communications, education, or non-profit work may be considered experience.
  • BS/BS preferred
  • Strong computer skills required, including Salesforce or other CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, and multiple social media platforms
  • Experience with membership driven and/or non-profit organizations would be helpful
