Position

This new role will oversee expanded capabilities to support senior leadership towards their relationship building for major gifts. This person will be a key advisor on high-level strategy for moves management and relationship building. Alongside a growing team, this position will implement and drive an effective workflow that helps maximize executives’ time and provide the necessary resources for an ambitious and expanding group of nonprofit organizations.

Responsibilities

The Development Operations Specialist will:

  • Provide recommendations to the executives across the allied organizations about their development strategy and relationship building.
  • Inform the strategy for how to build relationships that result in donor renewals and upgrades.
  • Enter data and maintain details in Salesforce that pertain to meetings and relationship building with major donors.
  • Conduct research on current and prospective individuals and foundations.
  • Assist with event strategy for the larger development team.
  • Prioritize the executives’ workflows and make strategic recommendations for time use.
  • Utilize multiple databases and calendars to prepare prep materials that include strategies for high-level donor/prospect meetings.
  • Participate in and provide meeting materials for moves management and development strategy meetings.
  • Manage projects with colleagues including proposals and other deliverables.
  • Assist development team members with miscellaneous tasks, as needed.

  • Demonstrated track record of using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, to analyze data, improve workflow, and support larger goals.
  • Proven ability to build an easy rapport and interact well with others at all levels, both externally and internally.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other web-based content applications.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferably a minimum of one year of non-profit moves management experience.
  • CGS welcomes experience with other aspects of nonprofit fundraising but does not require it.
