The Role:
America’s Future seeks a director of marketing and communications that will help AF build a nationwide movement of young leaders dedicated to leaving this country better than they found it.  Put bluntly, we’re looking for someone to make AF look as good as possible, to as many people as possible through creating a compelling narrative that employs a robust social strategy and traditional marketing tactics to help America’s Future reach its ambitious goals for growth. 

Who is America’s Future?
America’s Future (AF) empowers young people to be active, civil, and curious citizens that lead from where they are to make their communities more free and more prosperous. AF has an HQ in Washington, DC, but our team is spread across the country, and we embrace remote work. We also offer a competitive salary, flexible work schedules and benefits package plus an unlimited vacation policy. The director of marketing & communications will lead a lean team of both full and part-time staff. As an integral member of AF’s leadership team, they will report directly to the executive director. They will work with team members across all departments to support their marketing needs as well as to promote the organization as a whole. 

 Outcomes- What success in this role looks like 

  • Grow AF’s owned audience from roughly 20,000 to 100,000 by 2023 
  • Increase engagement across key social channels by 50% 
  • Assist the Community department in reaching a goal of 5000 members by 2024
  • Maximize interest in AF programs, events, and fellowships by working with the team to increase registrations and applications according to annual growth goals
  • Support on the ground audience growth efforts in chapters and regional hubs across the country 
  • Develop a robust content strategy that presents a compelling liberty-based lifestyle by boosting community engagement, and utilizing new platforms and products 
  • Cultivate a successful and growing team of communications talent 
  • Develop a cohesive and inspiring AF voice that inspires others to join  



  • Strategic planning America’s Future serves its audience through 10 local chapters, 4 regional hubs, and a growing virtual audience, effectively reaching this audience with opportunities and messaging will take robust systems, processes and strategy. 
  • Management & Coaching - America’s Future’s mission is to develop lifelong, effective advocates for freedom, that includes helping our team learn and grow in anticipation of their next professional steps. You’ll work closely with members of the marketing team, as well as other AF team members to help them develop the skills to spread the ideas of freedom more effectively. 
  • Persuasive Messaging - Sharing the ideas of liberty in an attractive and compelling way is the challenge of our time, the successful candidate will be able to craft language that inspires others to dive in and engage. 
  • Branding & Community engagement- Ensuring brand consistency across America’s Future as well as cultivating a brand that leads to a passionate and engaged online community will require a clear understanding of brand development. 
  • Platforms- knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and CRMs like Salesforce and Hubspot. 

Experience you bring to AF
We believe the ideal candidate for this role will have 5+ years of professional experience in communications and/or marketing. However, if you believe you are a good fit for this role, we encourage you to apply regardless of your experience level.
