Matt Labash and the PC scolds
So, in his first column for The Daily Caller, The Great Matt Labash had the temerity to write the following:
I have the gift of wisdom. Does that sound arrogant? I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention. I didn’t choose wisdom. It chose me. If I had my druthers, I’d have chosen another gift, perhaps the untold riches of Lil’ Wayne, whose teeth are made of actual diamonds, or to be the sexiest man alive, like Rachel Maddow. But wisdom is what they gave me, so wisdom is all I have to give back to you.
Emphasis mine because, you see, The Great Matt Labash has caused something of a shit storm by calling Rachel Maddow mannish. He’s history’s greatest monster and a homophobe all wrapped into one sexy ball of flyfishing goodness. Let’s leave aside the fact that Maddow herself has said she looks a little like a man (which The Great Matt Labash points out in his followup column) and consider that there are plenty of straight women about whom you could make that joke. It’s not a homophobic lesbian joke, it’s a women-who-look-like-men joke. You couldn’t make that joke about Portia de Rossi, for example, because she, um, doesn’t look like a man. It wouldn’t make any sense!
Anyway, this is why it’ll always be fun to rip on the PC Left: They have no goddamn sense of humor. As a result, you end up with Media Matters running two separate items about our hero because he had the audacity to make a joke about someone other than a straight, white male. The horror!
