The tolerance on the left for free speech part I've given up counting

The Obama campaign tries to silence journalist David Freddoso. I mean, seriously? Calling David an extreme hate-mongerer? That’s just silly. But not unexpected.

Which reminds me: David and I will be on a panel (along with Matt Welch and Megan McArdle) discussing the conservative/libertarian case for McCain. Mr. Welch and Miss McArdle are taking the opposite tack. The roundtable will be at the Fund for American Studies at Dupont Circle (1706 New Hampshire Ave., NW); there will be drinks at 6:30 and discussion starting around 7. I think there’s a nominal fee for non-AF members, $5 or so. Or less than one Heineken from the 18th Street Lounge. Stop by, a good time should be had by all.
