A few notes
Just wanted to throw a couple of links your way. ‘Traitor’ is out this week, and I kind of dug it; it’s one of the few movies we’ve seen over the last 7 years that has dared to treat terrorism in a serious fashion. (Hollywood’s dearth of terror-related films happens to be the topic of this feature piece by me in today’s ‘Times.’) The reaction by critics to this film has been kind of fascinating–conservatives like Dirty Harry hate it for a few instances of moral equivalence in the first hour, while liberals like David Denby hate it because it admits that terrorism is a serious threat.
Anyway, I definitely recommend ‘Traitor.’ It starts a little slow but definitely picks up in the second hour. It’s worth your time.
