Planned Giving is a Dance, and It Takes More than Two to Tango.
You’ve mined your your database for prospective bequest prospects, pumped up your planned giving marketing, and finely honed your solicitation skills. That’s great, but there’s one important partner on the road to “yes” that you may not have given much thought to. Chances are your donor’s attorney will have a major say as to how your organization’s charitable gift will go forward—if it goes forward at all.
Join us for a lively luncheon discussion with estate planning attorney Mark James from the firm of Hartman, Underhill & Brubacker, LLC. Mark is not only a knowledgeable estate planning attorney, but he’s also a member of The Heritage Foundation’s Legacy Society. Mark will share his unique perspective on what happens behind the closed doors of a client-attorney estate planning appointment. He’ll also walk us through some of the most common tools employed by attorneys, highlight best practices, and expose common pitfalls. This is a great opportunity to spend an hour in your donors’ shoes, so be sure to come with questions.
Luncheon participants will receive a copy of Mark’s book on estate planning. However, if you’re unable to attend in person but would like to call in, please indicate this preference on your reply. We’ll forward you call-in instructions in advance of the luncheon.
A special thanks to The Heritage Foundation for providing complimentary food and beverages for the luncheon.
