Chapter Leaders Meet in Dallas for Annual Retreat
AF was delighted to welcome 23 chapter leaders to Dallas, Texas, for the annual Chapter Leadership Conference where we discussed topics such as “engaging talent in the liberty movement,” “building sustainable communities of liberty,” and “taking your chapter to the next level.” Chapter leaders engaged in round table discussions on tips and tricks for hosting events, brainstormed new and innovative ideas for involvement, and shared personal success stories.
How do we spread the ideals of liberty, free enterprise, and personal responsibility to the Millennial generation? What can we do to inspire our communities to advance these values? These are the questions we strive to answer at America’s Future Foundation. Every year, our staff comes together with the chapter leaders from across the country to discuss these questions, to brainstorm, and to train to become better advocates for freedom.
We were honored to hear from TK Coleman, education director for the apprenticeship education program Praxis, who delivered an inspirational take on “The Moral Case for Freedom.” Coleman also hosted a communications workshop where he gave pointers on the particulars of public speaking and how to engage with those who disagree.
It was a successful retreat, leaving both staff and chapter leaders eager to take these ideas back to their communities.
“I left Dallas better informed, energized, and connected …. Can’t wait for the launch of the [Rhode Island] chapter, I picked up a million ideas,” one chapter leader wrote.
Are you interested in getting involved in the liberty community? Find out if there’s an AF chapter in your city, or start one if there isn’t. We hope to see you at next year’s conference.
