6 Exciting Reasons to be an AF Member in 2022!
It’s a new year, and as part of our ongoing resolution to provide our AF National Members with the best possible experience, we wanted to give a quick update as to what our Members can expect this year in terms of benefits and programming! Not a member yet? Well not only can you remedy that here, but hopefully this will give you a better idea of precisely what you’ll be purchasing! From Fellowship opportunities to monthly events and workshops, we’re so excited for what’s in store. Let’s dive in!
1.) We will continue to have monthly Member Only events, where our members will get the chance to hear from leading experts on a variety of topics, from the world of policy to professional development and back. There is always more to learn and explore, and we hope our members take advantage of these opportunities to do just that!
2.) We’re also excited to announce the return of our Masterminds Fellowships! Exclusive to AF Members, these fellowships allow you to join an exclusive community of ambitious young professionals, as you learn from each other and expert trainers. This spring we will have both a Grassroots Fellowship, focusing on building activism and organizing strategies and skills, as well as a Professional Development Fellowship, focusing on building the full suite of skills needed to succeed in your career. Applications for our Spring Masterminds Fellowships are now open, and we can’t wait to see what great things our future Fellows will accomplish!
3.) Also returning in 2022 are our Member Workshops! Part of our mission here at AF is helping our Members become their most empowered selves, and our goal with these Workshops is to help you on that path. From building leadership skills, to finding your niche in the policy world, these events will span a wide variety of professional development topics, all geared toward helping you, our Members, realize their full potential.
4.) New in 2022 is our plans to get our members discounts to various subscriptions and services they might find useful! Whether discounted subscriptions to publications like Reason Magazine or Washington Examiner, or to subscription services like Spotify or Netflix, we’re working on getting our members easier access to resources that can make their life easier and more enriching. Stay tuned!
5.) We will also be continuing our practice of holding National Days of Action for our members. Once a month, we will set aside a specific day of the week to encourage our members to go out and invest in their community. Whether by volunteering, organizing, or even just voting, part of being an empowered citizen is giving back to and growing roots in your local communities. Each Day of Action will have a different theme, and for all our members who send in proof of their participation, we will hold raffle drawings for prizes like one-on-one interviews with mentors!
6.) Finally, after much planning we’re excited to announce our plans for a 2022 Member Retreat! One of the drawbacks of being a nationwide organization is not often getting the chance to come together as one single AF community, and we’re hoping to remedy that this year in the late summer to early fall! Dates and location are still TBA, but stay tuned for more info!
Beyond all this, we will continue our standard programming, with events such as our Annual Gala and usual AFterparties at conferences throughout the year. Thank you so much for your continued support, and we can’t wait to get 2022 started!
