Writing Fellows Summer Seminar
Applications are now closed for America’s Future’s Summer 2023 Writing Seminar! Stay tuned for updates on the next session!
Are you a policy wonk who loves getting in the weeds of an issue but struggles to explain the details concisely to regular folks? This summer, join America’s Future for the latest Writing Fellows Seminar – Translating Policy for Real People: The Art of Wonky Writing. In this four-week course, you will learn how to take those weedy policy topics and break them down into a conversational style. You will also gain skills in technical writing and bridging the gap between academic and popular writing. At the end of class, you will leave with a complete and reviewed op-ed on a policy issue of your choice.
This DC-based, in-person fellowship will meet for four Wednesday nights from June 14 – July 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at America’s Future offices in Dupont Circle. Dinner and drinks will be provided. There will be no class on Wednesday, July 5th.
Applications are due May 31, 2023. Apply here! Former Writing Fellows are encouraged to apply. Preferential treatment will be given to AF National Members. Not a member yet? Learn more and sign up here!
