AF-DC: Getting Your Start in The Liberty Movement

Looking to break into the Liberty Movement? Join us at the AF Clubhouse for networking and advice from DC’s most seasoned movement experts!

If you’ve ever wondered whether you can spend your career on the ideas behind the issues rather than the politics around them, this event is for you. Join America’s Future and Big Fish Recruiting for an evening with non-profit professionals who made the leap from politics. They’ll share what the transition really looks like and how the skills you’ve built on the Hill translate to policy, education, and advocacy work grounded in principle.

What you’ll learn:

• How to move from political work focused on short-term wins to policy work focused on lasting change
• How Hill experience in legislative research, constituent communication, and coalition building applies in the nonprofit sector
• What roles exist across think tanks, advocacy groups, and educational organizations in the liberty movement
• How to talk about your background when applying outside of politics
• What the pay, pace, and culture of nonprofit work are really like

Who should attend?

Current and former congressional staffers, campaign alumni, and anyone in or near politics who is curious about a career built on ideas and principles. You don’t need to be ready to make a move. Come to learn, ask questions, and meet people who have done it.
