America’s Future Selects Eric Kohn as New Chief Executive Officer

America’s Future (AF), the premier nationwide network of liberty-minded young professionals and leaders, is pleased to announce that Eric Kohn has been selected as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 19, 2025.

Eric is no stranger to the organization, having served several years on the AF board and previously led the Chicago AF chapter for over a decade.

Regarding the transition, Peter Lipsett, the chair of our board of directors, expressed his excitement for the next chapter of AF:

“Eric is a triple threat—he’s well-connected in the liberty movement, possesses a deep understanding of America’s Future and what makes it great, and is an entrepreneurial leader with a bold vision for growing the organization.”

Peter added:

“Eric’s background in storytelling and community organizing stands out and makes him uniquely positioned to break through the tribalism that is confusing to so many young people in their worldview today. AF’s special role in cultivating young professionals’ thinking, networks, and skills requires the strategy that Eric has envisioned. I am excited and honored to welcome him to America’s Future as our new Chief Executive Officer.”

Eric joins us from Empower Illinois, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer and worked to forge communities that advocated for expanded education opportunities for Illinois families.

Before joining Empower Illinois, Eric was Director of Marketing and Communications at the Acton Institute and Director of Community Management at the Illinois Policy Institute, one of the nation’s premier state-based think tanks. He was also the Founder and CEO of Curious Task Strategies, a public affairs consulting firm. He is a producer of the award-winning film The Hong Konger: Jimmy Lai’s Extraordinary Struggle for Freedom, the 2022 documentary feature from the Acton Institute.

Eric shared, “AF has been a huge part of my professional life, allowing me to hone my public speaking, organizational, and leadership skills, as it has done for countless others. But it’s also been a huge part of my personal life, as so many of the people I’ve met and worked with through AF I now call friends. It’s no exaggeration to say that my involvement with AF has changed my life, and I’m excited that it has come full circle.”

We invite you to meet Eric at AF’s 30th Anniversary Gala & Awards Showcase on May 22, 2025, at AutoShop at Union Market in Washington for a fantastic evening and the induction of the newest members of the 1995 Society.
