AF-Detroit: Day of Service Community Policing Kickball Tournament

Join AF-Detroit for a day of service with local law enforcement, and youth playing kickball, flag football and other yard games.

Community policing increases public safety, social connectivity, economic strength, community resilience to crime, and job satisfaction. Playing Together to Evolve Together is a tournament-style sporting event in which inner-city youth and law enforcement officers compete on integrated teams. Team unity and team peace. In between playing, WHOH volunteers assist law enforcement and youth in having meaningful conversations about the community and their personal lives. This event is directly related to our mission of bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community through traditional and nontraditional sports, as well as expanding our capacity to serve inner-city youth and provide a pathway to higher education and careers.

We will have free food, police recruitment opportunities, video game trucks, and flag football.
