AFF-Chicago: The Future of Religious Liberty With Rev. Robert Sirico (Virtual)

August 25, 2020 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

A four-year study completed in 2019 found a 14 percentage point decline in Americans who agreed with the proposition that “true religious freedom means that all citizens must have freedom of conscience, which means being able to believe and practice the core commitments and values of your faith.” This comes against the backdrop of declining religiosity in America, as documented by researcher Lyman Stone, and the rise of the Nones – people who claim to religious affiliation.

As fights continue to rage on in politics, the culture wars and in the courts, what does the future hold for religious freedom in America?

Join America’s Future – Chicago as we host Rev. Robert Sirico, president and co-founder of the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty, for a conversation about the current state of religious freedom in America and what it is likely to look like in the years to come.
