“This chapter, ‘Of Property’ is arguably one of the most influential pieces of philosophical analysis and argumentation in the Anglo-American tradition.  Even today, political philosophers, political commentators and citizens take inspiration from what they think Locke argued, but many have a misunderstanding of Locke’s view.  This chapter bears very close scrutiny, not just for its role in Locke’s overall theory of the state’s legitimacy, but also for its role in the history of economic theory.”
Online copies of Locke’s Second Treatise are available here and here. You can also purchase a hard copy at Amazon.
