The Entrepreneurial Solution to Poverty in Texas

September 24, 2018 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

State & Allen

2400 Allen St., Dallas, TX 75204

Though the great state of Texas outperforms the rest of the nation on a variety of metrics, we actually have a higher poverty rate than the national average. Poor policies that punish entrepreneurial activity in Texas cities are at least partially to blame. Join America’s Future Foundation on Monday, September 24th for a discussion with Michael Wood, creator and founding director of the Lone Star Policy Institute, on how reforms like allowing one stop permitting shops, simplifying regulations, and expanding partnerships with schools and colleges might help alleviate poverty in cities across the state.

The Lone Star Policy Institute is an independent think tank that promotes freedom and prosperity for all Texans. They advance public policy solutions that encourage Texans’ enterprising spirit, expand personal and economic freedom, and improve the quality of life for the people of Texas. As usual, we will have ample appetizers and an open bar. Free covered parking is provided in the lot attached to the restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity to meet other liberty-lovers in the area, and to learn about how we can make this wonderful state even better!
