Is Socialism Our Future?

By: Cindy Cerquitella

How many times in your life have you felt uncomfortable having a conversation with a peer about your beliefs? Doesn’t it feel like other people our age can be pretty harsh and closed-minded when it comes to other political viewpoints?

We have a huge problem on our hands. Almost one-third of millennials said in a recent poll that they would identify as socialist. This is despite all of the times socialism has been tried in countries around the world, always with devastating consequences.

Next year, millennials are set to outpace the baby boomers as the largest living generation. We are the largest generation in the workforce, the largest consumers in the economy, and we will soon be the largest group of potential voters.

Isn’t it alarming that so many of our peers have fallen for the dangerous mindset that government dependency and regulation can solve all our problems? You and I know that the best path to a fulfilling life is found in hard work and perseverance, rooted in individual liberty.

I think that’s why you, and so many others like you, are part of the America’s Future Foundation community. We must support and lift each other up. We have to stick together and continue winning over others to our cause. It takes time, effort, and money to make that happen.

Will you join me this Giving Tuesday in making a gift of $25, $50, or even $100 or more to AF? I would appreciate any amount you can give, large or small. We can’t afford to wait. We have so many more in our generation to reach with the message of personal responsibility and liberty. You can donate at www.americasfuture.org/donate. To hear from some of our members on why they choose to give to AF, take a look at our story on Instagram.

Thanks for all you do to make this a freer and more prosperous country. We couldn’t do it without you.
