That’s why America’s Future is excited to announce that applications are now open for two of our signature Fall 2026 fellowship programs: the Writing Fellowship and the Development Fellowship.

Tell the Story of Liberty
For decades, America’s Future has helped develop the next generation of communicators for the liberty movement. Our Writing Fellowship has become one of our most respected programs, with nearly 800 alumni who have gone on to publish books, work for elected officials, and write for leading national publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Review, Reason, The Federalist, and USA Today.
This six-week virtual fellowship is designed for aspiring writers who want to sharpen their skills in journalism, opinion writing, and policy analysis while receiving personalized feedback from accomplished editors and journalists.
Participants will learn how to pitch stories and build a professional writing portfolio; strengthen their writing across multiple formats; receive individualized coaching from experienced editors; and build relationships with nationally recognized writers and media professionals.
The fellowship is led by Matt Purple, an accomplished journalist whose work has appeared in National Review, Reason, The Washington Examiner, The Spectator, and numerous other publications. Throughout the program, fellows also hear directly from some of the most respected voices in journalism and public policy.

Build the Institutions That Defend Freedom
Ideas matter, but so do the institutions that preserve and advance them.
America’s Future’s newest Development Fellowship is designed for liberty-minded young professionals who want to strengthen mission-driven organizations through effective fundraising, donor engagement, and nonprofit leadership.
Participants will explore both the philosophy and practice of philanthropy while gaining practical skills that help organizations thrive for the long term.
Throughout this six-week virtual seminar, fellows will explore why private philanthropy is essential to a free society; learn donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management; study organizational development, major gifts, foundation relations, and planned giving; and develop practical fundraising strategies that strengthen liberty-focused organizations.
The fellowship is led by Kevin Augustyn, Vice President of Development at the Acton Institute, who oversees a fundraising program generating approximately $12 million annually. Drawing on decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, institutional development, and philanthropy, Kevin brings practical insight that participants can immediately apply in their own careers.
Guest speakers from across the liberty movement will provide additional perspectives on fundraising strategy, nonprofit leadership, and charitable giving.
